Monday’s Must Haves: Children’s Halloween Costumes

Trick. Looking for a handmade costume for your kiddo this year, but don’t have the time to make one yourself? Check out these Etsy finds and have the coolest dressed kid on the block. Treat!

etsylion

Your little one won’t need courage to wear this cute lion costume by Kaleidoscope Custom Creations. ROAR!

etsysuperhero

KA-POW! Babypop‘s Superhero packs contain kid’s tee, cape, gloves, and mask. Never fear! There’s a superhero here!

etsycloak

Velvet Plume‘s felted cloak for wee ones is perfect for any young Robin Hood, Wizard, or Woodland Fairy Prince or Princess. Plus the wool should keep your trick or treater warm all evening.

etsycircus

The greatest show on Earth! In Sweet Plume‘s gorgeous circus get-up, all lights will be shining on your little starlet.

etsybutterfly
A beautiful and versatile costume, Fairy Wonderful’s Black Monarch Butterfly tutu dress with accessories is just right for the little girl who loves feeling pretty.

etsygnome

No one will tell your kid to stay off their lawn if he’s dressed in this cute gnome costume by Wild Olive Kids

etsybear

A costume accessory that can be worn all season, Baby Rocks Mohawks‘ black fuzzy bear bonnet is bear-y adorable. Grrr.

etsydragontail
Personally this reminds me of Lola’s (of Charlie and Lola’s) Alligator costume. Humble Luna sells them at one of Portland’s local children’s resale shops, Piccolina), and trust me, they are even sweeter than pictured. Good for an alligator, dinosaur, dragon, or other exotic reptile costume, these tails are pillow soft, yet firm enough to knock over even the most sturdy of Tokyo replicas.

etsypilot
Whether you’ve got Amelia Earhart, the Red Baron, a Wright Brother, or even a Top Gun in your midst, Three Fish Shop‘s chunky aviator earflap beanie is a great way to top off any pilot’s costume. Added Bonus – It’s organic!

etsyrobin
Trusty Sidekick’s Boy Wonder Onesie with Detachable Cape is a wonderful costume choice for baby brother. This is another local to Portland designer that sells at Piccolina.

etsyflower
This topper for a little girl’s flower costume is enough to make anyone long for those warm summer days. Best of all, Allium Design‘s accessory will make even green tights and a green shirt seem like a professional costume. Easy peasy!

etsypbandj
Another easy costume idea, but this time for twins or best buddies, is Bambina Mia‘s PB and J onesie or tee shirt twinset. They’ve got this style in red, white, or the black as shown.

etsymax
With Spike Jonze’s new movie coming out, I just had to show a Where the Wild Things Are “Max” costume. Lucky for me Inky Blue Design has this great looking one in sizes 1-5. Hopefully your “Max” won’t get sent to bed without his dinner or his trick or treat candy. “I’ll eat you up!”

etsybats
Piddies‘ toddler vampire bat booties look warm, fuzzy and super spooktacular. I know you’re a goth baby, but what am I? Too cute!

*stay tuned crafty mamas – I’ll be doing a handmade halloween costume tutorial roundup later on in the week!

  1. This is such a great feature! Costumes can be as simple or as complicated as you really want and the handmade touch just makes it so much lovelier. In addition to sewing costumes for my kids, I always have to line them with warm flannels and fleeces since our Michigan Halloween is chchchilly. There’s nothing worse than seeing a child with a paper thin store bought Disney costume shivering during what should be a really delightful time. Again, thanks for featuring all these handmade beauties!!

  2. Excellent! I am still thinking about making one for my daughter. But will have to get to it quickly, don’t i? Love the bunny suit!!! Will mull about making her a version… Thanks for compiling…
